Bahia Grass is a tough, drought-resistant variety that does well in hot, sandy areas where other grasses may struggle. It’s the only sod we offer that doesn’t require an irrigation system, making it a great choice for low-maintenance, budget-friendly lawns. Bahia grows best in full sun, with at least 6–8 hours of direct sunlight per day.

Please note: Bahia is harvested from pasture fields—not from manicured farms like our other varieties. Because of this, the quality can vary. It’s common for Bahia sod to contain weeds, break apart, or look uneven when first delivered. It’s most often used for roadside projects, erosion control, or rural yards.

Bahia can still be used for home lawns, but it needs a few weeks to settle, root, and fill in before it looks like a typical yard.
